SPI BRAZIL 2024
Explore insights into the country's socio-economic development.
The Social Progress Index (SPI) is a methodology that assesses the quality of life of Brazil's population through a multidimensional approach. The SPI examines whether people have the necessary resources to thrive, moving beyond traditional metrics and economic paradigms, and enables comparisons among municipalities, states, and regions.

The SPI is composed of socio-environmental and outcome data, i.e., the SPI does not measure the amount of infrastructure or resources invested in a municipality; the SPI measures whether that infrastructure or resource is bringing results for people. In addition, the SPI uses public, recent data that is available for all municipalities in Brazil. The SPI answers 12 guiding questions.
